Spelling City- to practice their spelling sorts/ play spelling games/ study for test on Fridays!
Xtra Math- to practice their math fluency facts. I recommend this site a couple times a week at home for more practice!
IXL Math- to practice and enforce the math skills learned in class.
Passwords and usernames are on labels inside your child's take home folder!
Every morning we will have a 10 minute working snack in our classroom. Students should come to school with a healthy snack that they are able to both eat and clean up easily. Please send your child to school with only ONE snack each day. Students may bring in a water bottle (no juice), or drink from the water fountain.
*PLEASE NOTE: We are a peanut free and tree nut free classroom. A letter will be coming home from the school nurse with details. Thank you for your cooperation.
All students in CW-5 will have a folder that travels in his or her backpack from home to school and back again every day. We will use these folders to effectively communicate between home and school. In the folder, students will transport notices, homework, their homework log, word study words, and other important papers. Please check your child’s folder each day and make sure it is returned to school the next day.
Students are expected to read 20-30 minutes a night. Parents should sign reading logs. Students will be expected to jot during/ after they read. This ensures students are monitoring their comprehension as they read.
Headphones are provided for each student but feel free to send your child in with his/her own. Please put your child's name on the bag.
We are a bucket filling classroom! We share, compliment, take turns, help eachother and learn together :)
I fully believe that if we can change our words, we can change our MINDSET! This means if we tell ourselves we CAN do it, then we are already half way there! This is called growth mindset! More to come..
I understand that the week can be very busy for families but making time for those 20 minutes of reading at home can really increase your child's reading development Thank you in advance for supporting this reading time!
There are 20 students in our class. Treats will no longer be distributed in the cafeteria or the classroom due to the many different allergies at school. We strongly suggest a non-food item if your child would like to share something for his/her birthday with classmates. Thank you!
